We are upgrading our servers to increase the number of servers available. We will be running 24 server in one site alone. Ever mindful of power costs and the environmentally effect huge power consumption has we have gone to ultra low power consuming units only 30% of the power a normal server would need. That with blade servers reducing the carbon foot print. Our new NAS servers  have a 75% saving in power with a minimal effect on performance. We as a business are always a where of costs and environmental effects of our kit and we will be continually on the look for new, tried and tested ideas that will mean we can offer a better service  without huge costs in terms of  carbon foot print. Our current setup we have managed to keep the power consumption below 8Amps.

Later this year we shall be setting up a failover data centre site this should cover any local or national events that might stop our services .i.e. flooding, power failures etc.
